Grateful for the opportunity to attend an event in honor of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. during MLK weekend hosted by the office of Congressman Adriano Espaillat.
The event located at Cngressman’s office on 125th in Harlem was a packed event with interesting people, good food and music. Congressman Espaillat spoke a few words in honor of Dr. King’s legacy and his days coming up in Washington Heights. He’s a pretty vibrant speaker as I enjoyed his brief story regarding what Dr. King meant to him personally. All in all, it was a great event.
Also, I got the opportunity to meet Congressman Espailat’s Chief of Staff, Aneiry Batista, Director of Constituent Services, Cynthia Rodriguez and Community Liaison, Shana Marks. I chatted a bit with a couple of folks in attendance as well. A poet and author as well as, an opera singer. All good people, including Congressman and his staff, working on behalf of our community and our extremely diverse neighborhood.
Featured above, a photo with Congressman Espaillat.
Until next time.
