In the featured photo, I’m standing with my youngest, Jalyn at one of the most exciting times of my professional career. The moment this photo was taken, I was just sworn into the New York Bar. How exciting was this moment and also, bitter sweet since the rest of my family could not attend the ceremony. Nevertheless, Jalyn and I celebrated and made the most of this wonderful milestone. Just one year prior, I had relocated to New York to attend graduate school at Columbia University. In a sense, I set out to reinvent my professional self. I had recently lived and practiced law in Georgia for several years and life with its unpredictably brought me to New York in 2014.
Seven years to date since I made the choice to become a New, New Yorker life has brought me full circle back to practicing as a Solo Practitioner only now in Georgia and New York. Phenomenal.
Within a span of seven years, I have changed my residence, completed graduate school with a Masters Degree in Public Health, added a new state of practice to my resume along with many additional skills and talents gained, including the skill of Alternative Dispute Resolution- Mediation and Arbitration. This all translates into – S.M. Cameron Law and Mediation, PLLC – ready to serve. Full circle with a bigger and better presence. Still, the same ole me. The attorney who has always poured heart and soul into serving her clients, community and, on a larger scale the world.
